Ghanaian Striker Asumah Abubakar has join swiss team FC Luzern

Striker of Ghanaian origin, Asumah Abubakar has sealed a deal from fellow Switzerland top flight club FC Lugano to FC Luzern.

The 24 year old with a Portuguese passport signed the contract that will end on June 30,2024 and will start training with team this afternoon. The successful signing went through after he passed the medical examination this morning.


Asumah Abubakar was transferred from Holland to SC Kriens for the 2019/20 season, where he scored no less than 22 goals and 10 assists over a season and a half. With these numbers, the native Ghanaian quickly played his way into the notebooks of various Super League players, of which FC Lugano made the race for the coveted striker during the winter break of the 2020/21 season. The fast and agile striker was also able to prove his qualities in the Super League, scoring ten points in a total of 42 games.


The Sports director for Fc luzern Remo Meyer said he is satisfy Asumah Abubakar will reinforce the attack with is qualities. He said this on the occasion of signing the contract.

"We are convinced that Asumah Abubakar will strengthen us on the offensive with his qualities, He is a constant source of unrest on the field and also has the necessary scorer qualities that we need."

Asumah Abubakar will train with the team for the first time this afternoon and will be wearing the number 21 shirt from now on. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the transfer modalities.
