Black Stars Technical Advisor Chris Hughton says Micheal Essien is his best Ghanaian Player. The technical advisor believes that, Michael Essien is his greatest Ghanaian footballer of all-time. He made this statement in an interview with Micheal Oti Adjei of TV3.
"I would have to say that my all-time greatest Ghanaian footballer would be Michael Essien," he said. He further said, he has seen him in play alot and have had the opportunity to meet him in several occasion in England. "One because he was in England, so I saw a lot of him when he played. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on one or two occasions to speak with him, and he was a very influential player in what was the turnaround in what we are seeing in Chelsea Football Club," he explained.
The former Blackstar midfielder, Michael Essien played for the Black Stars for more than a decade, featuring at two World Cups and several African Nations Cup.
He signed for Chelsea from Olympic Lyon in 2005, going on to win the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and a host of others.
He had stints with Real Madrid, AC Milan and Panathinaikos.
Ghana will lock horns with Brazil and Nicaragua later this month.
